Building professional competency and understanding of Fibromyalgia is a component of Fibromyalgia awareness building.  Often professionals do not attend Fibromyalgia-specific conferences, usually, conferences are about pain in general with one or more breakout sessions dedicated to Fibro.  Several patient advocates attend professional conferences and report back to the FM community.  If your doctor is not up to date on advances in Fibro, let them know there are CME courses out there.
