What am I, Chopped Liver?

Disney may proclaim itself "the most Magical place on earth ", but most of its guests are "the most rudest people on earth ". If you're mobility impaired and lucky, you can rent an electric scooter for $70. If that cost of mobility independence is too high and you have a willing companion, you can rent a manual wheelchair for $12. In either case, you become invisible to other Disney guests. They will step in front of you and then glare down at you when you hit their intrusive ankles, they will sit on your scooter if you leave it parked to go to the bathroom, eat at a restaurant or ride a ride ... after all THEY get tired and you shouldn't have left it.

The thing that really got me was the people who attempted to walk right through me. They literally pushed the scooter or attempted to step over me. When I yelled, "hey what am I .. Chopped Liver here", most of these jerks looked startled, surprised, or even scared that an inanimate object had just came to life. Some seemed puzzled as if wondering why a Disney animatronic robot had just come to life.

Despite the rude, disability discriminating guests, my granddaughter had a wonderful time and I conserved energy and kept my pain level low.

We had a wonderful experience on the way back to our hotel. We missed the 6:05 pm shuttle. 6:45 another shuttle pulled up. We asked the driver if he were going to our hotel. He replied, "no". He watched the three of us, my daughter, 5 Year old granddaughter and I with a cane, shivering in the fidget Florida winter night air. He said, "I'll be your shuttle driver when I come back in an hour. You can wait in the cold and dark, OR you can ride with me in the warm bus", with a reassuring smile and a nod of his head. We boarded the bus.

That hour of warmth lulled little Vicky to sleep. As we got off the shuttle, we thanked the driver and gave him a tip. He replied, "just doing my job, after all I wanted to make sure you were safe."
