I've been working on the refurbishing of my family heirloom dresser. It's been a little akward with the Achilles tendon problem, buuuuut, I will admit I've taken the easy out. On days I can roll out of bed, I throw open all the windows in my bedroom and do a little work. The dresser is an estimated 60 to 80 years old. It's been through a couple of family members since my Aunt originally purchased it as a set with a High Boy back in New Orleans, LA. The winters of Wisconsin and Illinois weren't kind to it.

I've applied a second coat of chalk paint and did another pass through of sanding. I'm liking the color, it matches the flowers in my drapes. I think now it's ready for the wax. I don't think the distraction is keeping me from thinking about my pain but it is giving me a purpose. Since the dresser is in its permanent spot, a few feet from my bed, it gives me the initiative to get up. Distraction becomes frustration though with Fibro Fog. I hobble out my bedroom to go clean the paintbrushes and then once I'm done, I start fiddling with things around the sink. Then I get got up with something else and suddenly remember that I didn't close the paint can. I need GPS to map out my chores and activities.
