September is Chronic Pain Awareness Month.

Fibromyalgia is a form of chronic pain. For many people with Fibromyalgia, our journey from initial onset of symptoms to receiving a diagnosis is a long one dotted with many expensive and frustrating doctor's appointments.

Once a diagnosis is received, we are dismissed as being difficult patients who either revel in our "disability" or are merely drug seekers.

Fibromyalgia, chronic pain and other chronic unobservable medical conditions require those struggling to live with them become Columbos of healthcare and pain management.
