Honey, I blew up the chem lab

When I was in high school i caused a small explosion, ok I blew up the chem lab. That's all I could think about today. You see, today was the chemical stress test.

Whew Lawd, if that was easier than running on the treadmill, I don’t never ever, ever want to get on a treadmill. It took 4 hours and 5 different people to complete this test. First, a technician set me up with an IV stint. I received the first of 3 infusions and then was placed in a machine that took pictures of my heart at rest. Then I had to hurry up and wait for the infusion to take effect and another set of pictures was taken an hour later. Then a second infusion was administered, and another set of pictures was taken. This infusion made my body think I was running on a treadmill. My heart started racing, I began experiencing shortness of breath and was getting hoooot. Luckily this phase of the test didn't last long. At least I got Pepsi and Lorna Dune cookies. The caffeine in the Pepsi counteracts the infusion and normalizes the heart. Finally, the third infusion to take the last set of pictures and then I was out the door.

And guess what, no zombie robots or Will Smith.

BTW

Well, we are now in the pre-op home stretch. The surgeon’s office has started sending me pre-op text messages. I got the first one today. Basically, this introductory message welcomed me to the hip replacement program, congratulated me for deciding to take this big step to move towards a pain-free (for those of us with Fibro it is a less painful) life, and encouraged me to spend the next two weeks simply relaxing.
