Between Gastroparesis and PCS, I'm turning into my grandmother. A major symptom of both conditions is nausea.
One day at balance/dizziness therapy, I was complaining about unrelenting nausea. My therapist pulled out some peppermint essential oil and instructed me to rub a little inside my COVID-19 mask. She then gave me a couple of soft pillow peppermint candies to eat. The combination of the two worked to relieve nausea.
She then advised that I go to Costco and buy the candy in bulk and always have a lot in my purse. I ordered a 350 count container of Bob's Sweet Stripe soft peppermint candy from Amazon. I'm finding that on a mild nausea day (nausea is a 3 or 4), 1 or 2 work well in conjunction with the peppermint oil on my wrist for when I'm at home (just place the wrist under my nose and sniff) or on my Coronavirus face mask when I'm going out. On bad days, (nausea is a 5 to 7) I might eat 3 or 4 of those candies every 20 to 30 minutes before it kicks in. On rough days, those days when I'm so bad I'm thinking about having my stomach pulled out my nose, I'm taking all my Gastroparesis meds, dowsing my mask in peppermint oil, and eating 5 or 6 candies every 10 to 15 minutes.
Guess it's time to pull out my Grandma Card.
