This step may be the easiest for you because as you worked through the past 6 steps with me, you had to ask yourself …

“what do I want to achieve in the long run and what will I accept as short-term achievements”?

Way back in Step 1 if you wrote about the characteristics of SMART goals as they applied to your Fibro Management goal, you were laying out monthly milestones, even if you didn't realize that was what you were doing.

So by now you should have asked yourself the following:

  1. What do I want to achieve in the long run? What is my long-term Fibromyalgia management goal?

  2. What will I accept as short-term achievements?

  3. What action steps am I willing to take to reach my goals?

Now rephrase your answers into positive milestone statements. For Example:

I want to reduce my pain level by 1 point each month for four months. Therefore my monthly milestones will be pain reduction.
