I don't know too many, okay okay ... I don't know anyone who "just has Fibromyalgia". There are so many other medical conditions that are often endured along with Fibro. In some instances, a person will be diagnosed with a pain or fatigue producing condition and then months or years later they will develop FM. In others the Fibromyalgia comes first. At this writing there is no clear connection between Fibro and any concomitant condition, so far no one is saying that these conditions cause FM or vice versa. However, it is common to see them together in the same person.

I was originally diagnosed with bilateral carpal tunnel, underwent a left carpal tunnel release and then developed Fibromyalgia. Throughout the years, I have developed IBS, gastroparesis, chronic fatigue, microvalve prolapse, neuropathy, arthritis and several other conditions. I sort of feel like the well-meaning friend who opened her house to one down on their luck friend who immediately turned around and invited her relatives and now everyone refuses to leave or help pay the mortgage.
