Every Girl Wants Tornadoes For Her Birthday

Writer's picture: Fibro DivaFibro Diva

January was rough and the first week of February hasn't been much better. I ended up in the hospital and just haven't had enough energy to even write posts for this blog. My daughter and daughter-in-law took me out for my birthday to see my favorite brass band, The Soul Rebels, and I nearly passed out (ventured out to soon after the hospital stay).

Then my birthday arrived and the area we live in was hit by a series of 7 tornadoes. I must admit I was momentarily disappointed but then I took a deep breath. I realized that I have a lot to be thankful for, none of the tornadoes touched down in our city. There was wind damage, overturned semi trucks and garbage cans strewn up and down the streets but all neighborhoods in tack and no injuries. One tornado touchdown in New Orleans East, 28 people injured, the neighborhood has been declared a disaster are, but no one killed.

So, understanding that my attitude can increase or reduce Fibromyalgia symptoms and even flare ups; I'm going to try and follow the advice I give my grandchildren, look on the bright side and always find something to be grateful about, no matter how bad things appear. I am grateful that my hospital stay was only 24 hours. I am grateful that I have family who want to get me out of the house. I am grateful that our home was not affected by the tornadoes. I am grateful that no one was killed by the tornadoes. Please pray for the people who lost their homes and belongings during the New Orleans tornadoes.
